Orihime wasn’t one to usually go without a coat or scarf, but when she got ready for school and checked the temperature outside it was decent enough to walk without them, since it was awkward having them at school home if it warmed up later that day.
Half way to the school she was freezing, her fingers and numb as she kept blowing on them desperately trying to warm them as she hunched her shoulders to keep warm. Her hair felt stiff even though she had dried it that morning. Orihime could imagine, if she made it without freezing, Tatsuki-chan’s reaction to this.
She wasn’t really looking forward to it.
She stopped for a moment, moving her legs up and down in place not caring the strange looks she was getting before she felt someone touch her shoulder. A low voice speaking, “What are you doing, Woman?” she stopped blinking, her arms shoulders still hunched and hands up as she looked over her shoulder seeing the only person that called that staring at her.
“Ulquiorra!” she said, gasping her breath coming visible from the cold, “what are you doing!” she asked staring him her eyes wide at him wearing the pink scarf she had given him.
“I’m going to the school, you were doing some sort of dance?” he raised an eyebrow at her, “you’re not wearing anything for the cold. Why?”
“Oh I’ll be fine, almost there!” she smiled turning to face him all the way. Nervous at the stare he was giving her, knowing it wasn’t up to his standards as she raised her hands again. “I’m okay…” she stopped as he sighed, his hand un wrapping the soft scarf from his neck.
“Take it.” was all he said as he wrapped it around her neck, she stopped her heart beating against her chest when she felt his cold fingers touch her cheek slightly as he finished. Ulquiorra didn’t say anything after that leaving and walking the rest of the way. Orihime stood there on the sidewalk watching him, used to his rudeness in leaving like that.
Her hands moved up under it, warming them as she pressed her lips together, enjoying the soft warmth the scarf was providing, her cheeks warm as she stared at her feet shuffling them slightly. Before she herself started to walk towards the school as well.
